Around ten years, the author and I were members of the Red Corn Harvest Circle, a Cherokee group here in New York that met every New Moon. We were a group of men and women, children and teens who treasured these meetings where we could shake off the trappings of the domcult society and connect with our culture, history and traditions. We learned songs together, made crafts, our Cherokee tear dresses and ribbon shirts. We each brought a traditiona Native American dish, and feasted after our lessons and ceremonies. Valerie and I talked about books we were planning to write, mine is not yet written, but hers is.
It's called Insight, and is Valerie McGee's first book.
Insight is a spell-binding suspense thriller that will keep you intrigued and always wanting for more. The debut novel of author Valerie CJ McGee follows a blind woman, Samantha Robertson, on her search to discover why she has been bound to a woman she has never met.
It is through the eyes of Rachael Maxwell, that a blind woman, Samantha Robertson, has been able to continue to see. They share this sight only through dreams. When Rachel plunges ten stories in Brooklyn, New York it is Samantha who unwittingly becomes the only eye witness.
Who will believe a blind woman in California could have seen what happened? Discovering that Rachael did in fact exist, Samantha leaves the safety of her home to discover why they are bound to each other.
Samantha encounters a young detective, Brian Reynolds, who has continued to investigate Rachaels case after it was closed. Together they uncovere answers to questions they never knew to ask.
Long held secrets are uncovered and the haunted man who set off the intriguing search for Insight is drawn out. Once you get pulled into the story you won't want to put it down |
